Our new and interesting creative workshops are for those with no musical knowledge or ability as well as experienced musicians, this is because our approach does not come from the expectation of a certain level of mastery or industry experience. The way we approach lyric writing, idea creation and music making is fresh and we encourage quick thinking as well as in depth storytelling, but along the way show you the tools to bring out the most creative output.
Our techniques are developed from a wide range of sources and exercises from therapeutic models to academic, creative and critical thinking.

Understanding re-writing in songs
We believe singing is not just reserved for those who perform. We utilise singing and vocal techniques as an expressive tool to help facilitate and show you how it can benefit your songwriting in the workshops and in the future, even if you're a non-performing songwriter. Using natural voice methods, combining the aural tradition of learning songs and not using any written lyrics or sheet music.
We are not a music school and do not teach instruments in the workshop, but bring along those that will benefit you. You also do not need to be able to play an instrument to join a songwriting workshop as they are designed for you to participate in whichever creative way suits you best, from lyric writing alone to singing and playing and/or incoporating the use of digital technology (not supplied). A digital piano, basic guitar and percussion are available.
An introduction in the elements needed to write a song from scratch. These workshops are for beginners, it is advised you attend a 4-week course taking you through lyrics, melody, harmony, structure and rhythm.
Currently running Monday 6-8pm & Wednesday 2-4pm. Includes refreshments and snacks.
A course focusing simply on lyrics and different approaches to lyric writing. From psychotherapeutic methods to simple pop writing strategies, we analyse existing songs to understand their thematic content, lyrical techniques and structure and rhyming patterns to understand how we can change or add in new techniques to writing lyrics.
